Open Government in Malawi: where the 2023–2025 cycle stands

A short read on the commitments, the progress, and what the next action plan needs to prioritise.

Malawi's current Open Government Partnership cycle has moved transparency commitments from paper into early implementation, with multi-stakeholder coordination at its core.

The progress is real but uneven. The commitments with clear owners and delivery routines are advancing; those without are drifting — a familiar pattern, and a fixable one.

The next action plan should concentrate on fewer, deeper commitments with named accountability and public milestones, rather than a longer list that dilutes attention.
